Every country in South America has its own breweries, and most of them produce beers made in the Germanic tradition, favoring cold lagers. Brazil far outranks any other South American nation in volume production, though consumption per head is modest. One of their most notable breweries is Xingu. Generally, however, the beers of South America are not as well known as those to the north in Mexico.
